Controls Technician - Canada

Responsibilities

  • Review Site Execution Plans and SOI and verify Equipment Manager's schedule of equipment.
  • Test Job Site WAN and ensure all computer and communication equipment meet corporate standards.
  • Assist Equipment Manager with remote pre-test of all equipment prior to shipping to Site
  • Assist Equipment Manager with test of all equipment returned from site.
  • Ensure all equipment repair requests are resolved.
  • Ensure all equipment meets Superheat FGH Quality Assurance program specifications.
  • Provide troubleshooting to the field in conjunction with the Control Room.
  • Assist with routine calibration in accordance with QA requirements.
  • Perform first line functional test of all equipment new to site prior to it being handed over to the Control Room
  • Perform Inspection, Test and Calibration of new built equipment.
  • Assist the Control Room with all technical problems associated with equipment, LAN or WAN.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning correctly on site and take preventative action when required.
  • Work on a rotational shift system.
  • Provide troubleshooting of Company network, computers and printers

Qualifications

  • Be knowledgeable of Instrumentation, control, computer and electrical equipment.
  • Be knowledgeable of low, medium and high voltage circuits.
  • Be knowledgeable of Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • An understanding of installation, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of above.
  • An understanding of calibrating, maintaining and modifying instrumentation and computers.
  • Be knowledgeable of networking and VPN circuits
  • Instrument & Control Technician Certificate of Qualification required and two years experience with computers & Instrumentation
