Regional Safety Coorinator, Western Canada

Responsibilities
- Coordinate customer specific safety programs (COR)
- Promote and ensure compliance to internal company safety standards
- Maintain and ensure compliance with applicable OHS provincial regulations, and WCB for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia
- Prepare reports for safety statistics
- Assist with Accident/ Incident investigation and Claims Management
- Ensure successful completion of safety training and maintain employee safety training files and records
- Monitor, implement and deliver health and safety training programs to employees
- Provide safety orientation training to new hires
- Develop and implement solutions for emergency preparedness plans for company sites
- Assist in identifying areas of potential or existing risks and liability
- Develop strategies aimed at eliminating risks and accidents
- Investigate and review all safety related incidents and ensure completion of appropriate documentation
- Perform internal safety audits
- Respond and provide information for customer and internal audits
- Provide superior customer service to clients
Qualifications
- 2-5 years previous experience in a health and safety environment
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Multiple location, refinery and power plant or other industrial experience an asset
- Knowledge of various safety codes, standards and professional organizations
- Excellent working knowledge of federal regulations and various provincial laws regarding health and safety compliance
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
- NCSO designation is an asset
- Valid driver's license
